Prenton Charity Events
As a school, we participate in a number of events in order to raise money for different causes. In doing this, we hope our children gain an awareness of the needs of different members of the community, people in different parts of the country and people from around the world.
We support large national and international charities such as NSPCC, Save the Children, Comic Relief and Children In Need. We also support local charities such as Charles Thompson Mission and Claire House
To raise money for Children in Need we host The Big Spectacular. Children come to school wearing something spotty. The pupils with the ‘spottiest’ outfit in each year group win a prize!
We loved raising money for Children In Need this year!
We raise funds for Claire House by hosting a football tournament in the summer term called ‘Cole’s Cup’. The event remembers a special boy, Cole Breadner, who was in Year 6 at our school, when he very sadly passed away in February 2014 after a brave battle with cancer.
To raise money for NSPCC we take part in sponsored fitness challenges. The challenges test pupils’ agility, balance, coordination, power and endurance. Children enjoy taking part and the event promotes the value of health and physical fitness, which is a key aim of the school this academic year
